Westhoughton Phoenix have undergone a number of changes in readiness for the 2008-2009 season. The team have moved to Sunday 11 v 11 football in the Wigan & District youth football league (www.wiganyfl.com).
The team contains the backbone of last years team, together with several lads who have joined from the other disbanded U11's team of last season.
Pre-season has concentrated on grasping the new aspects of the 11 v 11 game and we have been reasonably happy with how the lads have adapted to the changes with one victory and one defeat.
The squad this season has started with 16 players under the following squad numbers;
