With no Curtis and no Josh N it was a re jigged Rangers that headed for the lowest pitch in Bolton.
Westhoughton lined up
Luke
Callum Kane Lucas Michael
Ryan Josh T Ben Dominic
Tom Robert
Bromley kicked off and where soon on the attack but good defending from Kane cleared the danger away. Ben picked up the ball and found Dominic who jinked past the Bromley defender to find Ben who powered through to the edge of the box to find Robert who fired a shot just wide. Good start from Westhoughton. Bromley broke and great work from Michael making a great tackle then find Dominic who completed the clearance. Westhoughton pressed again and Ben fired a shot which the keeper did well to stop. Then out of the blue Bromley cross scored. A crossed ball broke to a Bromley forward who finished with ease. 0-1 completely against the run of play. Westhoughton reacted well pushing forwards with a good move involving Michael, Ben and Dominic who skipped into the area but was forced wide and Bromley survived. Not for long though as Lucas won the ball well and broke out of defense to find Tom who’s ball found Robert who sped onto it rounding one defender and calmly slotting the ball past the despairing keeper to make it 1-1. Westhoughton pressed but still couldn’t find away through, Ryan did well to find Lucas who then drove forward and did really well to find the Robert who took off again and fired his shot just wide. Although Westhoughton where well on top a little reminder was given , a swift break brought out a fantastic save from Luke.
Half Time
Zack came on for Ryan. Westhoughton kicked of and Lucas smashed the ball towards goal but the ball went wide. Westhoughton started the half brightly and Michael and Dominic linked up well down the wing and Dominic cut inside and found Ben who shot whistled past the post. This was the start of an onslaught by Westhoughton as they through everything at Bromley Cross to find a winner. Then out of nowhere a free kick which was debatable at best Kane slipped and the Bromley player fired the ball at Kanes hands while on the floor. The free kick smashed through the wall and past Luke. Couldn’t believe it. Ryan was put on for Josh T as Westhoughton went again for an equaliser. Westhoughton though where not to be denied and Robert once again was on target with a fine finish. Westhoughton threw kitchen sink at Bromley and almost won it at the death as Dominic wriggled away from 2 defenders only to see his shot beat the keeper but skim the post and out for a goal kick. That was that a good effort and a good game well done boys
