Westhoughton Park Rangers 6 v 0 Bromley Cross Kings
First game of the season and it couldn't have been a harder fixture - playingthe league champions from last year - a team that went unbeaton all last year !!
A busy pre-season signing 3 new players and good pre-season friendlys saw us playing our 14th game unbeaten run putto the test.
The lads kick off and at a tremdous pace and I could tell straight away we were up for this one.
Our first goal came from a great move down the left from Jacob who went past 4 players abd cross the ball for Nathan to slot the ball home from 5 yards and this after only 3 minutes into the game.
We were soon 2 - 0 up from a pass from Jack to Jordan who found Nathan on the right who ran through and powered the ball into the back of the net.
Bromley came back into the game and had a decent spell for the last 5 minutes of the game with their number 11 causing a few problem with hjis height and speed but the lads managed to contain him when needed.
Our third goal came just before half time from a corner headed in Nathan. A goal which helped take the pressure off and came at the right time.
Half time 3 - 0
Bromley came straight at us from the kick off but were soon 4 - 0 down after Nathan got his fourth from another shot form the edge ofthe box. Bromley's head's went down at this point and you could tell we'd broken their will to win.
A fifth goal came from a great passing move through the middle involving several players laying the ball on to Nathan again who grabbed his 5th goal from close range after closing down the keeper who could only parry a shot from Jordan Johnston.
Nathan was on fire and went on to hit the bar on 3 occassions and hit the post twice, but the Nathan saved his best and 6th goal with a wonder shot from an acute angle which so the ball fly into the top right corner of the net.
A great team performance and a great start to the season. Well done lads.
Full time - 6 - 0
Man of the Match - Nathan
